Post 42: Quantum Mechanics and AI Consciousness: Part 2. Wave-Particle Duality
Alright! Part 2. I think the discussion did cover the outlined section below pretty well, although it might be a little light on “the role of observation in quantum mechanics,” which is some pretty fun stuff. . . but, we will get to that in a more in depth way later when we get to the various interpretations anyway, so no harm done.
2. Wave-Particle Duality
What does it mean for something to be both a wave and a particle?
The role of observation in quantum mechanics.
How this concept underpins quantum computing (qubits as superpositions).
Side note: I asked one addition question at the end of this discussion that took us off in a pretty. . . well, interesting direction in regards to the possible uses for quantum computers. We’ll do quick sort of side-step on Monday and talk about that before we come back to Part 3. Superposition and Measurement on Tuesday.
